Richard started CrossFit in 2013 and decided to go all in by getting his Level 1 a month after his first on-ramp. He has been coaching ever since. First in Massachusetts, then the Beltway, and now in Napa. Since moving to Napa, competing has become his focus and competed in his first competition: Wodapalooza 2017. Richard loves learning and attempting new methods and theories. He now has his CrossFit Level 2, USA Weightlifting Level 1, and the CrossFit Gymnastics Level 1, but still focuses on learning every day.
Jay grew up in Sonoma and after a few moves around the North Bay, Jay settled back in Sonoma with his wife, Stephanie. He has worked at several Sonoma restaurants as a chef and currently cooks at The Glen Ellen Star. Inspired by his fathers love of CrossFit both Stephanie and he joined their local crossfit gym in 2011. Almost immediately hooked on CrossFit’s focus on community and competitiveness, he never wanted to leave. After participating in every open, since 2012, and several trips to the games (as a spectator) Jay decided to get his CFL1 certificate in 2015. Jay has been coaching at EA’s Crossfit for about a year. Jay has great respect for anyone willing to put in the work to make themselves and their community better.
